According to the daily report from the Ministry of Public Health (MINSAP), 503 patients are in hospitals or at home nationwide, 235 of whom are suspected cases and 268 are active.
Of the new cases, 55 were contacts of confirmed patients, three of them were infected abroad and the source of contagion was not identified in six cases.
To date, the number of recovered patients is 1,097,874 (99.2 percent of all cases).
Of all active cases, only two persons are in a critical condition at intensive care units.
So far, Cuba has accumulated 1,106,730 contagions since the outbreak of the pandemic in the country in March 2020.
The death toll remains at 8,529, MINSAP noted.
Cuba’s lethality rate is 0.77 percent, a figure that is much lower than the world’s 1.14 percent and 1.67 percent in the Americas, according to data provided by MINSAP.
For 66 consecutive days, no deaths due to Covid-19 haven been reported in Cuba.
