During a virtual meeting on Friday, Yolanda Ferrer, president of the International Relations Commission at the National People’s Power Assembly (ANPP, Parliament), told her Chinese counterpart, Zhang Yesui, that those ties are characterized by mutual political trust and multifaceted cooperation.
According to the source, Ferrer expressed to Zhang the Cuban people’s gratitude for the unchanging position of the Chinese Government in support for Cuba against the United States blockade at the United Nations General Assembly, as well as its solidarity during the Covid-19 pandemic.
The Cuban lawmaker noted that both Assemblies can play a much more effective role in boosting economic, trade and financial relations between the two nations.
She reaffirmed the unequivocal position to support the One China principle and condemn the interference in China’s internal affairs in Taiwan, Hong Kong, Tibet and Xinjiang.
