The note issued by the M5S clarifies that “given the sensitive moment,” the position of the movement resulting from that forum “will not be anticipated before Thursday” and the expressions of its members before that time should be understood as personal opinions.
The meeting takes place some few hours that the unity of the government coalition puts to the test in the Italian Senate this Thursday, during the vote on several legislative initiatives.
The penta-stellar leadership must define the position of that force in relation to the decree of aids against the crisis and inflation, estimated at 23 billion euros, which among other things, it distributes a 200-euro bonus for workers and pensioners with less than 35,000 euros per year of income.
For the M5S, this initiative is insufficient and in fact, during its approval in the Chamber of Deputies, it adopted to maintain confidence in the government, but abstained in the vote on the provision, which is impossible in the Senate.
That movement demanded Prime Minister Mario Draghi a greater definition regarding issues such as minimum wage, tax wedge reduction, substantial interventions against expensive bills and inflation, as well as a great social pact for growth, observers point out.
