Artists from Peru, Costa Rica, Mexico and Cuba complete the list of the event, which will honor until July 18 the legacy of historian Eusebio Leal Spengler, who dedicated his life to preserve the architectural values of this city, its identity and cultural expressions.
The 11th edition of this event is also dedicated to Cuban storyteller, musician and actor Daniel Hernandez, who represents the role of storytellers and minstrels in the social life of each country, as entertainment and a way to evoke the past.
According to Osvaldo Manuel Perez, director of the event, the street storytelling festival intends to flood Havana’s squares and parks with narrative proposals especially dedicated to children and celebrate Children’s Day in Cuba.
Organized by Teatro de la Palabra group, a member of the International Storytelling Network, the Office of the Historian of the City and the Havana Theater Center, the event is held under the slogan “A different festival” and includes in its agenda storytellers, book readings, workshops and talks.
