Egyptian authorities work to change its energy matrix

Egipto-ministra-de-Medio-Ambiente,-Yasmine-Fouad
Cairo, Jul 11 (Prensa Latina) Egyptian authorities are working to generate from renewable sources 42 percent of the total energy produced by 2035, Environment Minister Yasmine Fouad stressed on Monday.

The national energy sector is undergoing a gradual shift towards reducing the emissions that cause the global warming, she said in a communique.

Fouad affirmed that this nation seeks to lead the list of countries that will use green hydrogen as a source of energy.

She noted that her ministry, in cooperation with other ministries, has developed a plan to finance the projects of the National Climate Change Strategy 2050.

The proposal aims to focus on the energy, food and water sectors, Fouad stressed.

Egypt launched its National Climate Change Strategy 2050 in May with the aim of addressing the impacts of that scourge.
