Vento led in this central Cuban city the opening ceremony of the contest, in which athletes of 22 disciplines are expected to compete.
We have made every effort to make the event a total success, which, while it trains our young athletes, it is a festive activity within the summer recreation stage,” he said.
He pointed out that these games will be very close to the people, the communities, the neighborhoods, where the athletes emerged to defend their respective territories and later the Cuba team internationally.
Vento concluded that these games will be dedicated to the 69th anniversary of the attacks on Moncada and Carlos Manuel de Cespedes Barracks, actions that took place under the guidance of the historic leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro, on July 26, 1953.
