Russia and Venezuela bet on expanding bilateral cooperation

Rusia, Venezuela, cooperación
Moscow, Jul 4 (Prensa Latina) Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov on Monday analyzed in Moscow with his Venezuelan counterpart Carlos Faria issues related to bilateral cooperation and the international situation.

The ministers discussed current issues that are part of the bilateral agenda, the deepening of Russian-Venezuelan cooperation in several fields, as well as the coordination in foreign policy, particularly in many international platforms such as the Group of Friends in Defense of the United Nations Charter.

A communique published on the website of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs highlighted that Lavrov and Faria also addressed the situation in and around Venezuela.

The Ministry assured that Russia intends to continue supporting the Venezuelan Government and people by all means in the defense of national sovereignty and the right to determine their own way of development.

The Russian Ministry stressed that “a relationship of strategic partnership between Russia and Venezuela is dynamically developing.”

The Foreign Ministry described the high-level talks between Russia and Venezuela as intense, as this year, the presidents of both countries have had two telephone conversations, and meetings of the Venezuela-Russia High-Level Intergovernmental Commission have been held.
