Arrest warrant issued to former official linked to Ayotzinapa case

México, caso, Ayotzinapa, arresto
Mexico City, Jul 4 (Prensa Latina) An arrest warrant was issued against Gualberto Ramirez, an official of the former Attorney General's Office in charge of the investigation of the 43 disappeared Ayotzinapa students, pronounced a fugitive.

He is accused of torturing Felipe Rodriguez Salgado, alias El Brush, one of the suspects involved in the disappearance of the youngsters back in September 2014.

The former official is one of the co-accused for these events, whose main responsibility falls on Tomas Zeron de Lucio, former head of the Criminal Investigation Agency (AIC), asylum seeker in Israel, according to the investigation file of the case.

Ramirez Gutierrez was head of the PGR Specialized Unit for the Investigation of Kidnapping Crimes when he was present at an interrogation carried out by Zerón de Lucio, where Rodríguez Salgado, from the Guerreros Unidos criminal group, was allegedly tortured to confess responsibility for the crime.

An arrest warrant was issued against Zeron de Lucio two years ago for this event, and now also against Ramirez Gutierrez, as confirmed by sources close to the case.

The arrest was authorized by the control judge of the Federal Justice Center of the South Prison of Mexico City, for the crimes of forced disappearance, torture and coalition of public servants.
