“Lavrov and Farias will discuss current issues that are part of the bilateral agenda, the deepening of Russia-Venezuela cooperation in several fields, as well as the coordination in foreign policy, particularly in many international platforms, such as the Group of Friends in Defense of the United Nations Charter,” the Russian Foreign Ministry stated in a communiqué.
The Ministry noted that Russia intends to continue supporting the Venezuelan Government and people by all means in the defense of national sovereignty and the right to determine their own way of development.
In its communiqué, the Russian Ministry emphasized that “a relationship of strategic partnership between Russia and Venezuela is dynamically developing.”
It pointed out that the parties have gathered “vast experience of multifaceted cooperation in such fields as the economy, trade, science and technology, cultural and humanitarian issues.”
Commenting about the issue, the Foreign Ministry described the high-level talks between Russia and Venezuela as intense, as this year, the presidents of both countries have had two telephone conversations, and meetings of the Venezuela-Russia High-Level Intergovernmental Commission have been held.
