The head of State described the summer period as a time for culture, sports, healthy recreation, family, friends and the “unmentionable party” of living in Cuba.

Summer in Cuba officially began on Saturday, July 2, with a series of activities across the country for the enjoyment of children and young people.

Cuban authorities say that families could learn about the life and legacy of the historic leader, Fidel Castro, visit places of interest, museums, and climb the country’s main peaks, among other events planned locally.

The Cuban Young Communist League (UJC) will offer two summer camps where recreation, knowledge and work will be linked to economic and social work.

Meanwhile, in July and August, the Cubans will also enjoy the proposals from the National Circus, and concerts by musicians in squares in all provinces of the country.
