The country´s infection toll jumped to 43,486,326 since January 2020, since the start of the disease.

Meanwhile, Covid-19 death toll amounted to 525,168, according to official data. Current coronavirus patients or active cases increased on to 109,568, health authorities reported.

The country´s recovery figure rose to 42,851,590, for a domestic recovery rate of 98.54%. Over 1,978 million Covid-19 vaccine doses have been administered across India to date.
