Chemistry, preserves and dairy products from Cuba

Havana, Jul 1 (Prensa Latina) Negocios en Cuba (Business in Cuba), a publication of the Prensa Latina Information Agency with more than 25 years of experience, today opens its July edition with an approach to the work of the chemical, canning and dairy industries.

Therefore, the reader will find a look at the chemical industry, a sector that has the capacity to interrelate with the agrarian sphere, either through production chains, import substitution or the creation of strategic alliances.

Readers will also obtain updated information on the area of canned food and vegetables, where the alliances of different economic actors, including agricultural workers, mini-industries and state manufacturers, become a common denominator in multiple entities. Encouraging news from the east of the country is reflected in this edition, since the Baracoa Cocoa Processing Plant, located in the province of Guantánamo and belonging to the Confectionery and Flour Derivatives Company, will be launched in the second half of 2022.

This number also delves into the commitment to the environment of the company Los Portales S.A., engaged in carrying out actions that promote a greater culture of recycling to reduce the pollution generated by plastic bottles.

The dairy industry, the largest of the Antilles ensures that this sector exhibits higher quality in the various products it offers, despite challenges such as the lack of raw materials and the need to substitute imports.

In the Economy and Finance section, specialist José Bodes Gómez analyzes the choice of Cuba as the venue for Expo Aladi (Latin American Integration Association) 2023, which aroused encouraging expectations in the region. The publication closes with a brushstroke on the Chinatown of Havana, an area in which some of the most indigenous customs of that culture remain protected.
