“We do not want to take anything away from anyone. We only want to give opportunity to those who never had it. In fact, I want to create a social welfare state in which people work, people live, people eat, people live in peace,” Lula told Radio Educadora station, located in Piracicaba municipality, Sao Paulo state.
Lula, who founded the Workers’ Party (PT), also highlighted other basic rights such as education, health, sanitation and the possibility that the workers can buy what they produce.
According to the PT presidential pre-candidate, the role of the Government is to create opportunities so that people can improve their lives.
The former governor criticized the destruction of the social policies by the current Government and considered that far-right President Jair Bolsonaro has a false discourse.
