The organization issued a statement calling to participate in the central sit-in to be held in the Port of Beirut in order to ensure the sustainability of the sector.
The released statement recognized the firmness and perseverance of public workers during the second week of the open strike in defense of livelihood.
The organization also lamented the position of the civil servants of rejecting the strike instead of attending its causes and trying to find a solution.
The member of the administrative body of the Association Ibrahim Nahal described the state of the mobilization as “general solidarity among the employees” and said it “cannot be retracted until all demands are met.”
Delays in the payment of fees, low wages and lack of insurance of fuel to go to work motivated the protests of public sector employees.
Figures from specialized entities of the United Nations place the situation in the country on red alert as a result of inflation of 890 percent, a monthly minimum wage of less than the equivalent of 25 dollars and 2.2 million people in need of food.
