A communique from the Export Council for Building Materials, Refractory and Metallurgy Industries stated that foreign sales of iron and steel increased by 1.0 percent in that period to reach 472 million dollars compared to the same period in 2021.
Of 64 countries that purchased those products, five accounted for 70.5 percent of the total, led by Spain, Italy and Saudi Arabia.
Meanwhile, cement exports totaled 217 million dollars, for an increase of 113 percent year-on-year.
Ghana ranked first in terms of purchases with 45 million dollars, followed by Cameroon (29 million dollars), Ivory Coast (20 million dollars) and Sudan (17 million dollars).
