Except the Caribbean Region, the remaining areas of the country are in the information phase, the CNE states in its website, and points out that the green alert declaration responds to the forecast issued by the National Meteorological Institute (IMN).
The IMN forecast states that the passing of this tropical wave over Costa Rican territory this Friday will generate unstable conditions and other local factors such as warm morning temperatures, sea breezes and rains, mainly in the afternoon and early evening.
It explains that the regions with greater probability of rainy activity are Pacific, North Zone and Central Valley, while isolated rains will affect the mountain ranges of the Caribbean region.
The assistance and relief agency urges the population to remain alert in case of flooding of rivers or collapsed sewers, and in case of emergency, call 911.
