At a briefing on Wednesday, the representative of Russian diplomacy said that Lavrov will hold talks with his Iranian counterpart Hossein Amir-Abdollahian on international current issue. Zakharova cited, among them, the situation surrounding the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) on Iran’s nuclear program, as well as the conflicts in Ukraine, Syria, Afghanistan, Transcaucasia, Yemen and the situation near the Caspian Sea.
The Foreign Ministry’s spokeswoman also said that Lavrov plans to discuss with his Iranian counterpart the bilateral agenda, especially the trade and economic component.
She stressed that both countries are implementing important joint projects in the fields of energy, transportation, as well as the mutual interest in promoting cultural and humanitarian ties.
