During his weekly press conference, Cabello congratulated the Historic Pact candidate, Gustavo Petro, and his running mate, Francia Márquez, for their electoral victory in the Sunday´s presidential elections in Colombia.
“We have always been respectful of the self-determination of the peoples and their governments´ authority to give themselves and make historical decisions; Colombia spoke yesterday, the oligarchy ruled for more than 200 years, (…) everything seems that it will no longer be like that”, asserted the socialist leader.
Cabello stressed PSUV supports and encourages any initiative to restore good relations between both nations; “Institutionally speaking, all of this goes to the head of state, and there are steps that must be followed,” he said.
“We are sure that the Bolivarian and unionist spirit, the spirit of the Great Homeland, is in this great victory of the Colombian people,” the PSUV first vice president stressed.
