Cuba and Belgium strengthen parliamentary ties

Brussels, Jun 20 (Prensa Latina) The Chairwoman of the Belgian House of Representatives, Éliane Tillieux, on Mondat welcomed the Secretary of Cuba´s National Assembly of People´s Power (ANPP, in Spanish) Homero Acosta, a meeting both high-eanking officials tackled down on the strengthening of parliamentary ties.

In one of his first working visits to Belgium, European Union and Luxembourg, Acosta described the meeting as excellent, and said he will meet in coming days with other Belgian lawmakers as part of his goal of promoting ties between the two countries.

Acosta arrived on Sunday in Belgian, leading an ANPP´s delegation made up, among others, with Estela Cristina Luna and Luis Morlote, President of the Health and Sports Commission and Vice President of the Education, Culture, Science, Technology and Environment, respectively.

The Cuban secretary will also meet with representatives of the European External Action Service and members of the European Parliament, in order to talk with MEPs from the Group of Friendship and Solidarity with Cuba.
