A message released on social networks by the National Italy-Cuba Friendship Association (ANAIC) indicates that the information agency was founded on June 16th, 1959 to oppose international information flows with a different world view.
According to the note, Prensa Latina’s global service, which transmits daily to its recipients in Spanish, English, French, Portuguese, Italian and Russian, carries out an extraordinary daily work aimed at breaking the news blockade.
Despite its disadvantage in terms of financial and technological resources compared to its adversaries, Prensa Latina fulfills the mission for which it was created: successfully confronting media monopolies, ANAIC highlighted.
