At the Cuban embassy in Beirut, Mr. León praised the contribution by Prensa Latina to the world news service under essential principles of objectivity and dissemination of the truth.
During a meeting with the Prensa Latina correspondents in Beirut, Mr. León sent a congratulation message to executives, journalists, technicians and media workers for spreading realities and political, diplomatic, cultural, sports, economic and social successes about the Cuban Revolution.
The message also highlighted the dissemination of internationalist foreign policy as well as the solidarity of the Cuban people.
The Cuban Chargé d’affaires acknowledged the devotion by Prensa Latina’s correspondents and teams working abroad, who have kept spreading news 24/7 under special conditions.
Prensa Latina was established just a few months after the Triumph of the Cuban Revolution on January 1, 1959, thanks to the will of Fidel Castro, Ernesto Che Guevara and Jorge Ricardo Masetti.
Throughout 63 years of work, the Latin American News Agency has been broadcasting over 400 daily news, with radio and television services, and correspondents serving in nearly 40 countries.
