Produced in 2018, with script and direction by Stephane Brize, “En Guerra” was in the official section of feature films in competition at the Cannes Film Festival and tells how the workers of the Perrin factory, known in the automotive industry, try to regain their jobs.
The film “Amanda,” directed by Mikhaël Hers, has been nominated for the Cesar Awards for best actor and original score; it was nominated for the Lumiere Awards for best film and best actor and other awards at competitions in Venice, Italy, Tokyo and Japan.
Meanwhile, “Hazme volar” is a co-production between Paris and Rome, directed by Christophe Barratier and starring Victor Belmondo and Gerard Lanvin.
The film tells the story of Thomas, a reveler, and the transformation of his life after taking care of Marcus, a 12-year-old boy.
Directors Mehdi Idir and Grand Corps Malade of the film “La vida escolar” received the Cinefilos del futuro award at the Seville European Film Festival for this film about 30-year-old Samia, who will run a school with a complicated reputation at a Paris suburb.
The first day of the event also includes the screening of Catherine Corsini’s film “Un amor imposible,” focused on Rachel, a modest office worker in the small town of Chateauroux; Philippe, a young man from a bourgeois family; and Chantal, their daughter.
The festival runs from June 15 to 30, and it was organized by the Cuban Institute of Cinematographic Art and Industry (ICAIC); Christophe Barratier and Nouredine Essadi, founders and organizers of the event, representatives of the Cinemania association, and French entities.
