According to a press release from the Foreign Ministry, the visitor will be in this nation until Sunday the 19th in order to complete an important work agenda with high-ranking officials of the Dominican government and civil society organizations.

The president of the main deliberative body of the UN will be received on Friday by the President of the Republic, Luis Abinader, at the National Palace, where they will discuss the country’s progress in the face of economic recovery and the tourism development experienced by the country after the Covid-19 pandemic, the information specified.

Shahid will receive a decoration from the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Roberto Álvarez, prior to a working lunch in which they will address issues of sustainability and the environment.

Likewise, the note pointed out that on Saturday the president of the General Assembly will travel to the province of La Romana, where he will visit the Hogar del Niño, and will tour the Casa de Campo Resort and Altos de Chavón.

The visit will end with a meeting at the Fundación Grupo Puntacana, in the province of La Altagracia.
