In a statement, the organization highlighted the decades of confrontation by the Cuban people against United States hegemony and the example of the revolution in the defense of just causes.

The press release from the Movement noted the meeting between Mourabitun leaders and the head of the Cuban mission in Beirut, Jorge Leon, to whom they expressed the military, political and economic achievements made by Cuba under the force of truth and freedom.

They highlighted Cuba’s support for the struggle for sovereignty against colonialism and the hegemony of the United States, and appreciated Cuba’s firm and permanent solidarity with the Palestinian Arab cause and the right to liberate their land and establish an independent State.

The statement highlighted the words by the Cuban diplomat to contribute to the stability of the Lebanese political and security situation, as well as to consolidate ties of friendship between both peoples.

The meeting was attended by Movement Undersecretary Fouad Hassan, and the head of International Relations and head of Palestine, Muhammad Koleilat.

The Mourabitun political movement was established in Beirut in the late 1950s by a group of activists who embraced the ideas of Egyptian President Gamal Abdel Nasser.
