“Envole-moi,” its French title, is a co-production with Italy, directed by Christophe Barratier and starring Victor Belmondo and Gerard Lanvin.
The film tells the story of Thomas, a reveler, and the transformation of his life after taking care of Marcus, a 12-year-old boy.
According to film critic and promoter Antonio Mazon, the exhibition chosen for this 23rd edition is diverse, entertaining and interesting and includes 14 fiction films, two documentaries and three animated feature films.
The expert also distinguished the screening of the film “Poetas del Cielo” (Sky Poets), a joint work between Mexico, Brazil and France, directed by Emilio Maille in 2019.
The film is about the world of pyrotechnics, focused on the most relevant artificers of that discipline and their creative and emotional process.
The festival involves the Paris Embassy in Havana, the Cuban Institute of Cinematographic Art and Industry (ICAIC), the Cinemania project and its founders Nouredine Essadi and Christophe Barratier, the Cuban Cinemateque and companies from the European nation.
