Violation of Historic Pact communications in Colombia denounced

Colombia, Pacto Histórico, campaña
Bogota, Jun 10 (Prensa Latina) The head of the Historic Pact Campaign, Alfonso Prada, on Friday filed a complaint at Colombia's Attorney General's Office for violating intimacy, reserve and interception of communications.

In this regard, he mentioned videos disclosed by local media outlets on Thursday on meetings of members of the Pact regarding strategies of the election campaign.

Prada argued that the leak of private conversations about strategies and the analysis of possible scenarios of the election are jeopardizing the campaign’s security and the integrity of presidential candidate Gustavo Petro and his team’s.

He said that the presidential campaign has fallen victim of a very serious listening-in incident and illegal infiltration that spied, recorded and leaked private conversations.

After that, the videos were published on Thursday on the Revista Semana (Semana Magazine) on its digital platforms and replicated on other media outlets, according to the complaint.

This is an episode that intends to materialize a dirty war against candidate Petro and Francia Marquez just a few days after the presidential runoff and amid a scenario that marks an intention of favorable vote, according to most polls, regarding this campaign, Prada said.

He said that the recordings made in private environments, such as these ones, which are intended to be published or without this purpose, violate the right to personal intimacy if they have not been directly authorized by the holder of this right.
