The statement was made by President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi during a meeting with Tanzanian Foreign Minister Liberata Mulamula, an official communique stated.
The president stressed the importance of guaranteeing the rights of the current and future Egyptian generations to the waters of Nile River, Egypt’s main source of fresh water supply.
Both Egypt and Sudan are insisting on a legally binding agreement with Ethiopia on the issue.
Sponsored by the African Union, the latest round of talks to resolve the decade-long dispute collapsed in April 2021.
