Vithaya Phommachanh, director of the Energy and Mines Department in Attapeu, said that 691 million dollars are earmarked for the energy development and they are distributed in four hydropower plants, whose construction are expected to be completed in 2025.
Meanwhile, 93.3 million dollars was poured in two companies of the mining sector, and the remaining 30.8 million dollars was invested in a transformer station.
Official statistics cited by Vientiane Times state that Vietnam ranks third among Laos’ foreign investors, in a list of 54 nations and/or territories.
The Vietnamese financing runs 417 projects worth 4.3 billion dollars.
