According to the daily report from the Ministry of Public Health (MINSAP), 950 patients are in hospitals or at home nationwide, 823 of whom are suspected cases, 34 are under epidemiological surveillance and 93 are active cases.
Of the new cases, 23 were contacts of confirmed patients, three of them were infected abroad and the source of contagion was not identified in three cases.
At a press briefing on television, MINSAP added that the number of recovered patients rose to 1,096,865 (99.2 percent of all cases).
Regarding the active cases, 91 are clinically stable, while two persons are in a critical condition in intensive care units.
So far, Cuba has accumulated 1,105,546 contagions since the outbreak of the pandemic in the country in March 2020.
The death toll remains at 8,529, MINSAP noted.
