Diaz-Canel calls to speed up recovery after rainfalls in Cuba

Havana, Jun 5 (Prensa Latina) Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel on Sunday called to work quickly to recover from the damage caused by heavy rains that hit mainly the western and central regions of the Caribbean island.

From the headquarters of the National Civil Defense General Staff, the president called to speed up the sowing and harvesting, and recovering crops, as well as fully restoring the electrical service, damaged by the meteorological event that flooded large areas.

He also calls attention on the housing problem, given the damage to some 750 buildings in ten provinces affected by the rains.

According to the head of State, during the meeting they contacted those territories through videoconferences, which continue working on their recovery in the shortest possible time, he stated on his Twitter profile.

At the meeting, experts from the Institute of Meteorology pointed out that despite the improvement in weather conditions, low-intensity rainfalls may still occur, with greater probability in southern Cuba.
