The Coordinator of Education, Culture, Sports and Science Programs, Tatiana Viera, specified that the festivities will reach the 105 popular councils of Havana.
At a press conference, she stated that the beginning of the summer stage in this province will begin on June 5 and will end on August 30 with the children’s carnivals.
She said that all institutions and forms of non-state management are immersed in the realization of the plan that includes compliance with the measures and protocols established by the Ministry of Public Health.
The actions for the three summer months in Havana will involve art, sports, schools and gastronomy.
Within the recreational plan are the activities for the 120th anniversary of the birth of Nicolás Guillén, on July 10; the celebration for International Youth Day, on August 12; and the 96th anniversary of the birth of Fidel Castro Ruz, on the 13th of that month.
There will be a book festival, the customary Arte en la Rampa space, the first meeting-workshop for theater groups, and presentations by concert bands and musical groups in the neighborhoods.
The Havana public and those who visit this city will enjoy the museum nights, the activities in the Piragua every Sunday, the inter-municipal heritage routes, and among others, the Cuballet organized by the ProDanza Ballet company directed by Laura Alonso.
Likewise, sports actions will be carried out such as street plans, festivals of traditional and recreational games and the visit of sports glories and active athletes in the communities is expected.
In addition, all children’s circles will remain open with a special summer program and the pioneer palaces will offer various recreational options.
