“It is evident that the United States, is at the head of a group of countries deliberately dedicated to arming the Ukrainian regime (…) We describe these plans as very negative,” the deputy foreign minister said in an interview with the Sputnik news agency.
A senior representative of the White House confirmed to the press that a new shipment of weapons for the Ukrainian government will be announced on Wednesday, which will include HIMARS multiple rocket launchers, and said Kiev assured it would not to use them to target Russian territory.
Riabkov questioned Washington’s attempt to present its decision as if it contained an element of self-limitation.
“The juggling, the manipulation of some aspects of what is happening, does not change the general picture,” the diplomat remarked.
Riabkov also warned that Biden’s “unprecedented” military assistance to the Ukrainian government is a very dangerous policy and increases the risk of direct confrontations between Russia and NATO.
For years, Washington did nothing to find a solution to the internal Ukrainian conflict and after the start of the operation to stop the bombing of Donbass by Ukraine, “it lost the rest of its common sense and responsibility” and now seeks by all means the strategic defeat of Russia. Riabkov also stressed that Russia will achieve the objectives set for the special military operation in Ukraine despite the attempts of its adversaries to dilate it.
