Cuba: eight patients still in hospitals after Saratoga Hotel accident

Havana, May 31 (Prensa Latina) The Cuban Ministry of Public Health (MINSAP) on Tuesday reported that eight people are still in hospitals after suffering injuries in the accidental explosion occurred at the Saratoga Hotel in Havana on May 6.

According to the latest report from MINSAP, 99 people were injured, 46 lost their lives as a result of the explosion, while 45 have already been discharged from hospitals.

Among those in hospitals are five adults: four men and one woman, all of whom are less ill.

Of three children admitted, all are less ill as well, the source pointed out.

Of 46 dead, 25 were women and 21 men, four were children, a pregnant woman and a woman of Spanish nationality.

The emblematic Saratoga Hotel suffered a partial collapse on May 6 at around 11:00 hours, local time, caused by an explosion when a tanker truck laden with liquefied gas was serving the facility.
