Education ministers and officials from Chile, Ecuador, Bolivia, Cuba, Honduras, Uruguay, Venezuela and Colombia, among others, analyze the necessary actions to achieve recovery after the Covid-19 pandemic, guarantee equal access to education and face regional challenges.
Under the slogan “The right to education in context: recovering and transforming,” the meeting is being held at the San Martin Palace and was inaugurated on Thursday by Argentinian President Alberto Fernandez, who pointed out that the development of learning, science and technology must be a priority for the governments.
According to the agenda, the Buenos Aires Declaration should be approved today, which will be presented during the Summit on the transformation of the sector, convened by the United Nations for September 2022.
A draft of this text reaffirms the region’s commitment to reducing social and educational inequality, considering that education is a universal human right and a social public good for all citizens.
