Directors and officials of the Parliament, the Government of Matanzas, and political and mass organizations will participate, until tomorrow, in this meeting held at the University of this city, head of the province of the same name.
Two work commissions will discuss papers on the subject from the western territories of Pinar del Río, Havana, Artemisa, Mayabeque, the special municipality of Isla de la Juventud and the hosts.
Diosenis Machado, head of the Department of the Matanzas Government, highlighted to Prensa Latina “experience gives us the urge to exchange with a group of delegates and be able to develop Law 132 on the operation of the municipal assemblies of People’s Power (mayors, AMPP).”
This regulation, she expanded, establishes that the role of presidents of these bodies (AMPP) is to attend and evaluate integrated community work.
Machado stressed that the State conceives help to transform the neighborhoods, from the material and spiritual planes of the population, “with a better quality of life in each part of the nation.”
The meeting that began this Friday and whose conclusion will be tomorrow, summarizes a movement carried out at the beginning of this year, during the first quarter, aimed at promoting work from the community, she specified.
Similar meetings are planned for June in the central and eastern regions of the country, based in the demarcations of Ciego de Ávila and Granma, respectively.
