French legislative elections begin abroad

Paris, May 27 (Prensa Latina) Almost 49 million French registered in the 11 constituencies abroad will be able to vote online starting today in the first round of the legislative elections, which will provide the 577 deputies to the National Assembly.

Voting abroad will begin as usual a few days earlier than in the country iteslf, on June 4th in French Polynesia and for those who vote at the embassies and consulates of the American continent, while those outside of it will do so the next day in the first round.

The first round in Guadeloupe, Guyana, Saint Barthélemy, Martinique, Saint Martin and Saint Pierre and Miquelon will take place on June 11th, while the elections in New Caledonia, Mayotte and La Réunion will take place on June 12th itself.

The vote will begin at 12:00, local time, and will last until Wednesday, with the bulk the elections taking place on June 12th and 19th.

Voting online is one of the four options available to people who work or live abroad, with other possibilities being voting in person at the polls, by proxy or via mail.
