The third and fourth doses of the vaccine will be administered during this period, mainly in adults, according to an official document cited by a local media outlet.

The state health authority assured that the amount of medicine to carry out the campaign is sufficient and asked local officials to immediately review the number of eligible candidates.

A warning was issued that those who fail to efficiently organize this process will respond to the government and senior leadership.

According to a report from the National Institute of Hygiene and Epidemiology, leaders of some provinces considered the possibility of not continuing with the vaccination or transferring their doses. The Ministry of Public Health responded that if this decision is made, what has been achieved in the fight with the spread of Covid-19 in the country could be affected.

The health authorities highlighted, however, the effort made in the deployment of national campaigns to guarantee their safety and efficacy and achieve a high vaccination rate.

More than 219 million doses against Covid-19 have been administered in Vietnam as of May 21st, according to official data.
