Also dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the International Fair Cubadisco and the 100th anniversary of Radio in Cuba, the meeting covers the record production of Aragon Orchestra, a popular Cuban band founded in 1939 and with a wide trajectory in the defense of the traditional rhythms.
Thursday’s program also includes a study of the 1976-2010 discography of Sintesis, an emblematic band defined for its ethno-fusion music and elements of the Afro-Cuban roots.
The symposium values the professional career of Manolito Simonet y su Trabuco, a band appreciated by specialized critics for its lyrics, innovative sonority and the mixture of representative Cuban genres such as son montuno, guaracha and bolero.
