On his Twitter account, Rodríguez highlighted the “impulse of Peace Diplomacy that has been successfully carried out by the Venezuelan people and government.”
Faría previously served as his country’s ambassador to Russia for five years, and according to Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro, he “knows very well the entire geopolitical environment of the struggle for a multipolar world.”
His appointment responds to changes in the ministerial cabinet announced by the president of that nation, as part of the actions promoted by the Bolivarian government to shore up economic recovery.
On Monday, Maduro also appointed Francisco Torrealba as the new Labor Minister, Hipólito Abreu as Industry and Production Minister, and Ramón Velásquez as Minister of Transportation.
