Renowned French conductor converges Cuba’s orchestra on stage

Cuba, música, orquesta, director, francés, Remy Ballot
Havana, May 17 (Prensa Latina) French musician Remy Ballot, considered one of the most outstanding conductors of his generation, and the Orchestra linked with the Mozart Lyceum of Havana on Tuesday will converge on the stage at the San Felipe Neri Oratory, in Cuba.

The initiative, planned as part of the Month of the French Culture in Cuba, is preceded by a similar exchange between the famous composer from the European country and the National Symphony Orchestra, which took place last week.

In statements to Prensa Latina, French Ambassador to Cuba Patrice Paoli affirmed that Ballot’s current performances are the result of the alliances assumed by the multi-awarded conductor during a trip to the Caribbean nation in 2019.

The diplomat announced that the exchange in the musical field is one of the most significant ones and mentioned German pianist and professor Ludwig van Beethoven and Austrian Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart among the composers chosen for Tuesday’s performance. Organized until May 26, the Month of the French Culture in Cuba also includes Comala, a contemporary dance piece inspired in the text “Pedro Paramo” by Juan Rulfo, directed by French-Colombian dancer and choreographer Alexi Marimon and in coordination with Rosario Cardenas’ company.
