The president’s statements came at the at the closing of the 5th extraordinary session of the National People’s Power Assembly, at which he acknowledged the contributions of those who in many ways participated in the rescue of the victims of the accident on May 6.

He mentioned the first citizens who went to the Saratoga Hotel, the firefighters, rescuers, ambulance drivers, doctors and nurses, leaders, journalists and every citizen who made an effort to save lives.

He lashed out at those who tried to contaminate social networks with messages of contempt for the actions of the Government and citizens. A mercenary will never understand a compatriot, he stressed.
