Havana, May 16 (Prensa Latina) In accordance with the times and the mandate of the new Constitution, Cuban lawmakers on Monday legislate on issues related to the creation and the cultural heritage.

This is the last day of the fifth special period of sessions of its 9th Legislature, when eight new laws regulating several fields will be approved.

This Monday, the National Assembly of People’s Power has on its agenda the analysis of the Law on the Rights of the Author and the Performing Artist, whose opinion is ready.

The same happens with the General Law for the Protection of Cultural and Natural Heritage.

This closes another cycle of progress in the legislative plan that began after the Constitution came into force in 2019, prior to a national referendum.

During the parliamentary meetings that conclude today, the legislative body completed a deep procedural and judicial reform, with the approval of the Penal Code, the Penal Enforcement Law and before, the Law on People’s Courts.

The Parliament also adopted the Law on the Process to Protect the Constitutional Rights for the protection against damages suffered by individuals due to actions or omissions by part of the State bodies, officials or employees, individuals or non-State entities.

On Sunday, the Parliament approved three other laws, referring to Food Sovereignty and Food and Nutritional Security, the Protection of Personal Data, and the Natural Resources and Environment System.
