“We join the initiative of Cuban residents and Belgian solidarity to once again denounce the prolonged economic, commercial and financial siege, a criminal policy reinforced by various administrations of the United States,” the organization said in a statement.
Brussels, Ghent and Antwerp will host political and cultural activities from May 18th to 21st, aimed at supporting Cuba and its people.
Cuban and Latin American residents, Belgian associations, MEPs, political forces and other sectors will demand the end of the US blockade on Wednesday, in a meeting to be held in the Luxembourg Square in Brussels, seat of the European Parliament.
“With our brothers in Belgium, we will condemn the unjust, illegal and extraterritorial blockade, which is a weapon of war used arbitrarily and systematically by the United States to break a people who have grown great for their resistance and proven humanism,” the Coordinator stressed.
The associations of Cubans in France that make up the organization ratified their support for Cuba and assured that they will defend it at whatever price is necessary.
The Cuban ambassador to Belgium, Yaira Jimenez, highlighted the initiative of solidarity and accompaniment, and recognized the expansion of the scope of the planned activities, until they became an international mobilization.
