The initiative is organized by the Institute of Culture in Chaco, the Ibero-American Cultural Association, the Cuban Embassy in Argentina and the Contexto and Corprens publishers, with the purpose of recognizing the work of this outstanding intellectual and her repercussion in Latin America.
Born in Santiago de Cuba in 1928, Rojas passed away in October 2021, shortly before launching the second edition of the aforementioned book in Argentina.
She witnessed important moments in Cuban history such as the attack on the Moncada Garrison on July 26, 1953, and the trial to revolutionary leader Fidel Castro (1926-2016) and his comrades, events that she collected in her journalistic works.
She is recognized for her fruitful career in Granma newspaper, from which she was a founder and where she worked as a head of Information, chief editor and head of its cultural page.
According to the program, the tribute to Marta Rojas will take place at 19:00 hours, local time, at the stand in Chaco of La Rural exhibition center.
Cuban Ambassador Pedro Pablo Prada, the president of the Chaco Institute, Francisco Tete Romero, and writer Pedro Solans will attend the activity.
