Cuba: 46 deaths reported in explosion at Saratoga Hotel

Havana, May 13 (Prensa Latina) At least 46 people were killed and 99 were injured, as a result of an explosion last Friday at the Saratoga Hotel in Havana, the Cuban Ministry of Public Health (MINSAP) informed today.

According to the most recent report from MINSAP, 13 of 99 injured remain hospitalized in six medical centers, and 40 citizens have been discharged.

Among the hospitalized patients, nine are adults, six are men and three are women.

The report noted that three patients have a critical condition, one seriously ill and five have evolved clinically.

Regarding the four hospitalized minors, two are critical, one is seriously ill and one has evolved clinically.

Of the total deceased, 25 are men and 21 women, four are children, and there was a pregnant woman and a woman of Spanish nationality.

MINSAP expressed its gratitude to all agencies, organizations and people in general for the support for the actions taken with patients and their families, as well as the concern shown over those hospitalized.
