The official Wafa news agency explained that Israeli soldiers surrounded a house in Jenin in an attempt, allegedly, to capture an activist.

Clashes broke out between Palestinian fighters and Zionist soldiers during the raid on the city and a nearby refugee camp. According to reports, the most violent clashes occurred near the cemetery of the martyrs.

Videos posted on social networks show exchanges of fire and Israeli snipers stationed on rooftops and tall buildings in the city.

“These attacks and the construction of new settlements will cause an explosion in the occupied territories,” said the Palestinian presidency in a statement.

The city has become the epicenter of a campaign carried out by Israeli forces against Palestinian militias since early this month, in response to attacks carried out by people from the city in Israel.
