Government institutions, the business sector, scientific entities and representatives of local governments are attending the event at the Hotel Nacional de Cuba, according to the authorities involved in its organization.
Prior to the meeting, other meetings were held with members of the civil society, public officials representing several organizations and actors of the non-state sector.
The United Nations Development Program Resident Representative in Cuba Maribel Gutierrez timely told reporters that Cuba is one of the Latin American nations selected to attend the meeting on sustainable development.
For her part, Odalys Goicochea, general director of Environment at the Ministry of Science, Technology and Environment, stated that the consultation process is taking place at a particularly important moment for the territory.

This time, it will commemorate the 50th anniversary of the call and holding of the 1972 United Nations Conference on the Human Environment and the 50th anniversary of the founding of the United Nations Environment Program.
