We condemn this heinous crime and consider that Abu Akleh is a new victim of the silence by the International Criminal Court in the face of the Israeli crimes, the Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated.
Interior Ministry spokesperson Iyad al-Bazm also described the death of the 51-year-old female journalist, who worked for the Qatari television station Al Jazeera, as an execution.
However, Israel Defense Forces Spokesperson, Brig. Gen. Ran Kochav, denied in statements to Kan radio station that his country’s soldiers were responsible for Abu Akleh’s death.
The female journalist was hit in the head while covering a new Israeli raid in the northern city of Jenin, the epicenter of Israeli military operations since early April.
According to Wafa news agency, Tel Aviv forces committed 384 violations against journalists working in Palestinian areas in 2021.
