The president of the legislative body, Freddy Mamani, emphasized the gigantic effort required to carry out the census throughout the country, for which it has the support of the Financial Fund for the Development of the River Plate Basin (Fonplata).

According to Mamani, the loan will guarantee the mobilization of personnel who will carry out the census, scheduled to take place on November of this year.

“We don’t have the exact day, because we have to comply with some legislative procedures, but this week we will have this bill approved,” the official said.

Mamani addressed “the Bolivian people” saying that “the census is fully guaranteed.”

Bolivia’s presidential spokesman, Jorge Richter, warned in April that some sectors intend to politicize the Population and Housing Census with the aim of destabilizing the government.

The presidential assistant explained that the data from the survey scheduled for November 16th will be “objective, real and useful,” and stressed that experts from different international organizations will participate in this exercise.
