On October 30, 2000, leaders Fidel Castro and Hugo Chávez signed the Comprehensive Cooperation Agreement, which allowed more than 255,000 collaborators from 26 organizations, institutions and companies in Cuba to leave their mark on the South American nation in the last two decades.
This agreement allows the Venezuelan and Cuban governments to complement their capabilities in the areas of food, education, health, science and technology.
